Donuts & Development | The Future of Public Power: Energy Northwest’s Clean Energy Leadership
Join us for a special Donuts & Development session as we celebrate National Clean Energy Action Month with a conversation about the future of public power and the innovations driving Washington’s clean energy transition.
This month’s discussion will feature Sean O’Brien with the Energy Forward Alliance, along with Jackie Eutsey, Sarah Fussner, and Michael Stevens from Energy Northwest, who will share insights on advancing clean energy, developing the next-generation energy workforce, and supporting community-driven sustainability.
Energy Northwest continues to play a leading role in the region’s clean energy transformation through a diverse portfolio of carbon-free and renewable projects, including:
- Columbia Generating Station – The Northwest’s only commercial nuclear power plant, providing around-the-clock, carbon-free electricity.
- Nine Canyon Wind Project – One of the largest publicly owned wind projects in the nation.
- Packwood Lake Hydroelectric Project – Energy Northwest’s first power generation project and a lasting symbol of clean hydroelectric power.
- Horn Rapids Solar, Storage & Training Project – A first-of-its-kind facility in Richland that integrates solar power, battery storage, and workforce training.
Energy Northwest also provides operations and maintenance support for other renewable facilities, such as the Tieton and Stone Creek Hydroelectric Projects, and is leading the charge in new nuclear development through an agreement with X-energy to explore small modular reactor (SMR) technology.
Together with partners like the Energy Forward Alliance, Energy Northwest is charting a path toward a reliable, carbon-free energy future that supports both regional growth and environmental stewardship.
Come enjoy coffee, donuts, and an inspiring discussion about how our community is powering progress in clean energy.
