About the Snake River Ice Harbor Dam Tour:

The future health of the Snake and Columbia River System is important for communities in the Pacific Northwest. As with any important issue the legislature deals with, developing a thorough understanding of our shared natural resource will help guide better policy discussions. An opportunity has been put together for Legislators that are interested and available to tour Ice Harbor Dam on the Snake River.

Attendees will board a vessel at Columbia Point Marina, travel down the Columbia River to the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers, and then up the Snake River to Ice Harbor Dam. The tour boat will then enter the navigational locks on the downriver side of Ice Harbor Dam, and after being lifted to the upriver level, attendees will disembark from the boat to tour Ice Harbor Dam.

Key topics to discuss will occur during the program including:

  • Regional Management of the Snake River System & Dams
  • Applied Technology Improvements Regarding Juvenile Recovery
  • Salmon Forecast
  • Water & Clean Energy Production in the West
  • Meeting Deep Decarbonization Goals
  • Navigation Utilization
  • Regional Food Security
